Therapy & Counseling Services - Payment Information
Sessions are typically between 50 - 60 minutes long and happen at the Newport Beach office. However, depending on client needs sessions can last longer or shorter and we can also offer telephone or video sessions when appropriate.
Fee For Service
Fee-for-service payments is always an option. In this kind of arrangement, we are able to provide mental health services without having to obtain prior authorization from your insurance and without having to reveal private health information such as service dates, and diagnoses. In addition, no information is shared with outside organizations (such as your insurance company), removing confidentiality concerns. Our standard fee for individual therapy is $160 for the initial assessment and $130 per 50 - 60 minute session. Our standard fee for couple's therapy is $200 for the initial assessment and then $160 for each subsequent therapy session. At this point in time, we do cannot provide any sliding scale fee options but can provide you with referrals to lower cost therapists should you need it.
Timely payment is expected. We accept check, cash, and credit card.
Please also note that psychotherapy services are eligible expenses for reimbursement from medical flex-spending accounts and health saving accounts. Additionally, the cost of our services may be written off as a medical expense tax deduction so please speak with your tax professional about this option.
We are "in-network" with Cigna, MHN and Kaiser Permanente. If you wish to use your insurance, please send us a copy of your insurance card and ID prior to your first appointment so that we can verify eligibility and provide you information about your deductible, co-pay, etc... prior to your first appointment. Please also keep in mind that should you choose to use your insurance we will have to reveal private health information including service dates, types of service provided, and a mental health diagnosis in order for the insurance to reimburse the visit.
